Tetnuldi is a new growing ski resort in Svaneti. A holiday at the Tetnuldi ski resort in Svaneti is not only skiing and snowboarding on the highest mountain slopes, but also a trip to a fairy tale land, where you can see an ancient country with a rich history, preserved centuries-old traditions, distinctive cuisine and an atmosphere of harsh mountain life. Mestia, the capital of Svaneti, is a real open-air museum with sincere hospitality, historical Svan towers and unique landscapes.
Here you can visit a museum, a treasury of icons, artifacts and ancient weapons of Georgia, take a walk among the towers and get a glimpse inside, climb up the narrow fortification passage to the upper floors, listen to exciting stories and legends of this unknown land. In the evening it is nice to sit in local taverns and cafes, order lamb or goat skewer, enjoy kaurma, kubdari, mountain cheese and other delights of the national cuisine, taste wines and chacha.
The Tetnuldi Ski Resort is located on the slopes of Mount Tetnuldi, 15 km from the center of Mestia and is currently only accessible by SUV or shuttle service.
The skiing season lasts from early December to May. After Gudauri resort, Tetnuldi is considered to be the second largest winter resort in Georgia, surrounded by eternal snow.
The elevation at the resort is from 2265 to 3165 meters above sea level, and the longest ski run stretches for almost 9.5 kilometers. The total length of the prepared tracks is about 25 km, including blue, red and black ski runs. However, there are also unlimited opportunities for off-piste skiing. Fans of freeriding, backcountry and ski touring will find a wide variety of terrain from pristine virgin fields to forested areas and couloirs.
The resort has three chairlifts produced by the French company POMA, which rise one after another to a height of 1600 to 3165 meters and another additional side lift rising to a height of 2340 - 2700 meters.
Since the resort is still very young, accommodation and recreation (après-ski) is still in the process of development. Therefore, accommodation in comfortable hotels and guesthouses is only available in Mestia so far.
On the first line of the Tetnuldi lifts there is a café where you can have a meal with kebabs and kubdari and drink mulled wine.
